Please note:
For deliveries to Switzerland and the United Kingdom, import taxes and customs duties may apply. These are your responsibility and not covered by us.
Orders within Germany and Switzerland are shipped with DHL.
Orders within the EU (including the United Kingdom) are shipped with UPS.
We pack your order as quickly as possible.
Within Germany, it usually takes 2–3 business days from the time you place your order until your basics arrive.
During special launch campaigns or for international shipments, it may take a little longer.
Orders within Europe typically take about 3–5 business days from the order date (shipped with UPS).
This is completely normal and means that the shipping label has been created, but your package hasn’t been scanned at the DHL depot yet. Our packages are picked up in larger batches, so it can take a few days before there’s an update in the tracking. No worries! 😊
If your package hasn’t moved for more than 5 days, just write to us at customer@popeia.de — we’ll take care of it! Thanks so much for your patience. 🧡
The shipping confirmation is sent automatically by email as soon as your package leaves our warehouse. It’s best to check your spam folder just in case. 😊
You should have received the order confirmation right after completing your order. If you didn’t get either email, there might be a small typo in your email address — this can happen, for example, if PayPal automatically uses an old or incorrect address.
If you received at least one of these emails (order or shipping confirmation), then everything is fine — maybe the other email ended up in your spam folder or the shipment is just taking a little longer.
No worries if you didn’t get any emails: just send us a message at customer@popeia.de with the name your order was under — we’ll take care of it! 🧡
Return Policy
We want you to love your new basics 100%. If that’s not the case, you can return any products to us within 14 days. All info about returns can be found here :)

Generally, return shipping costs are to be covered by you. Exception: For popeia underwear items, there is a free return policy within 14 days of receiving your order, as long as the items are unworn. Each item comes individually wrapped in paper. If you try items on, please only open one item per size. Important: Free return shipping only applies to orders from Germany.
You got the wrong size?
No worries – just request your exchange through our returns portal and send the wrong size back to us. We’ll cover the shipping cost for your new size.
Exchanges are completely free for you within Germany – we cover both the return shipping and the delivery of your new size.
Would you prefer a different color or another basic?
Simply start a return in the returns portal pick your new favorite product there. Super easy: just select "Refund" in the portal and then click on "Select new product". The amount from your original order will be directly credited towards your new product. We’ll cover the shipping costs for your new item.
Within Germany, we also cover the cost of the return shipping label.
Please register your return in our returns portal.
Returns from Germany:
For returns from Germany, we offer a paid DHL return label option (€4.50). This amount will be automatically deducted from your refund. Please note: This applies only to orders placed directly in our shop.
Returns from the EU, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom:
Please send your return to the address provided in the returns portal. You can download a paid shipping label (between €8-15 depending on the country) from DHL or UPS in our returns portal. Alternatively, you can arrange the return shipment yourself and send the item to the address given in the returns portal. Please make sure the package is clearly marked as a return to avoid any potential customs issues.
As soon as an item has been worn or (even partially) washed, we are unfortunately unable to take it back. Please try on new items dry first. 🙏
Once your return has been received in our warehouse, it will take up to 7 working days to process. You will automatically receive an e-mail as soon as the refund has been made.
Please send your return to the address given in the returns portal. You can download a shipping label from DHL or UPS for a fee (between €8-15 depending on the country) from our returns portal. Alternatively, you can of course take care of the return shipment yourself and send the blanket to the address given in the returns portal, please make sure that the package is recognizable as a return to avoid any problems at customs.

You can easily register both an incorrect delivery and a complaint in our returns portal. You will then receive a free returns label from us. 😇
Please select in the portal: “Exchange (for the same item, due to incorrect delivery/complaint)” and then the appropriate reason (“Incorrect delivery” or “Complaint”).as soon as the part has arrived with us, we will send you the correct or a replacement part. Thank you very much and sorry again! 🧡
Care Tips & Tricks
Hard to believe, but washing your clothes the right way is super important for their longevity. That’s why we’ve put together the ideal washing instructions for our products, so you can enjoy them for as long as possible:
Socks: To keep our socks in great shape, we recommend washing them at a max of 30°C, with a spin cycle of up to 800 spins, and using a gentle detergent. Wash with similar colors and skip the dryer.
Wool Socks: Wool cleans best by airing out, so you don’t need to wash them after every wear. When it’s time to wash, use the wool program or hand wash at max 30°C and 600 spins — only with a mild wool detergent. Dry flat and reshape if needed (no tumble dryer!).
Scarves and Beanies: We recommend not washing our merino wool items at all—airing them out often works wonders! If washing is needed, use the wool program or hand wash at max 30°C and 600 spins with a gentle wool detergent. Dry flat and reshape as needed (no tumble dryer!).
Shirts, Sweaters & Tops: To keep your basics lasting long, wash gently at max 30°C, max 800 spins, using a mild detergent. Wash with similar colors and avoid tumble drying.
Pro tip: Wash your basics in a laundry bag to prevent rubbing against rougher materials and keep them soft longer!

About Us
Sustainability and fair working conditions are important to us. To save additional transportation, we produce exclusively in Europe. Our socks, shirts, sweaters and tops are made in Portugal. Our scarves and beanies are made in Germany.
We are Anna and Sara, founders of popeia. Anna is from Würzburg, Sara was born in Switzerland. We got to know each other at The Female Company, but we always knew that we wanted to build something of our own. With popeia, we not only want to encourage society to be more empathetic, but also offer better, more sustainable, cooler basics. When we were once again standing in front of the fast fashion shelf at the annual sock shop and felt we could only choose between cheap polyester socks and boring 10-packs in black, we knew: this is where we start! Inspired by “Popeye”, the female form of the superhero achieves superpowers even without spinach. She is an authentic, empathetic personality who stands up for others and does good.
An important part of popeia is the donation to the women's shelter. For every order you place on popeia.de, a fresh pair of socks is donated to a women's shelter. So we count the number of orders and donate a few boxes of socks to one or more women's shelters every few months.
